KAOS - 2012

JCDecaux & Helsinki City Transport, Helsinki, Finland

Permanent bus & tram weather shelters.

Located in the absolute centre of Helsinki (in the “Kamppi”area) these bus & tram stops —named Kaos (=Chaos) — opened for traffic in August 2012.

Lindfors was commissioned to design bus & tram stops for the city of Helsinki, Finland, by the global outdoor advertising company JCDecaux in 2010. One of Lindfors’ ambitions was to make these “shelter stops” as user-friendly as possible — paying extra attention to disabled citizens with wheel chairs, among others. Kaos was later on bought up by Helsinki City Transport, and the new owner declared these wind shelter & advertising structures a permanent landmark of the capital.
